Case Study · Hospitality
A local pub with a big community presence — built on WordPress, maintained monthly, and kept connected to their audience through a live Facebook blog sync. This is what hands-on site management looks like in practice.
The Brief
The Angel Inn is a well-loved local pub — the kind of place with regulars, events, and a community that genuinely wants to know what's on. They needed a website that reflected that warmth, stayed up-to-date without being a chore, and didn't require the landlord to become a web developer.
Zenlabra built and now maintains the full site. From hosting through to monthly blog posts that automatically sync to the pub's Facebook page — it runs, and it keeps running, without the client needing to lift a finger on the technical side.
What's included
The blog workflow
The pub has an active Facebook following — locals who want to know about quiz nights, live music, seasonal menus and events. Rather than maintaining two separate channels, we built a workflow that publishes to both at once.
Technical detail
The site runs on Zenlabra's HestiaCP-managed VPS — a UK-based server with full PHP/MySQL support, isolated from shared hosting risks, and configured specifically for WordPress performance.
All traffic routes through Cloudflare for DNS management, HTTPS everywhere, and a basic layer of DDoS protection and caching — keeping the site fast and accessible.
WordPress blog posts trigger an automated publish to the pub's Facebook page via a configured sync integration — the landlord sees it go live on both channels without touching either.
Core, theme and plugin updates are managed automatically through WP Umbrella, with uptime monitoring and a monthly maintenance window to keep everything stable.
Full site backups run daily and are stored off the live server. If anything ever goes wrong — whether from an update, a hack, or something unexpected — we can restore quickly.
"We just wanted the website to work and to keep our regulars in the loop without it becoming a part-time job. That's exactly what we got."
