The Angel Inn
A local pub with a big community presence. Built on WordPress, hosted with us, maintained monthly, and kept in touch with its regulars through a blog that publishes to the website and Facebook at the same time.

A community pub that needed a real web presence.
The Angel Inn is a well-loved local, the kind of place with regulars, events and a community that genuinely wants to know what's on. They needed a website that reflected that warmth, stayed up to date without becoming a chore, and didn't require the landlord to learn WordPress.
The pub also has an active Facebook following, and that's where a lot of locals actually look. Keeping two channels going by hand is exactly the sort of job that starts enthusiastically and is abandoned by March.
So we took the whole lot on. We built the site, host it, maintain it, and write and publish the blog, with every post going to Facebook automatically. It keeps running without the pub needing to touch the technical side.

WordPress build and design
Built from scratch on WordPress: a clean, mobile-friendly layout designed to feel like the pub itself, welcoming, unfussy and easy to find your way around.
UK hosting
Hosted on Zenlabra's UK servers, with SSL, daily backups and a 99.9% uptime target as standard.
Blog writing and publishing
Events, specials, seasonal news and what's on, written, formatted and published to the site with no work needed from the pub.
Facebook page sync
Every blog post goes across to the pub's Facebook page, so followers stay informed without anything being posted twice by hand.
Monthly maintenance
Core, plugin and theme updates every month, plus form checks, performance checks and a quick content review.
Security and monitoring
HTTPS across the site, Cloudflare DNS for speed and protection, daily backups, and Zenith checking the site every five minutes.
Written once. Published everywhere.
The landlord sends a quick message about what's coming up. We do the rest: the post appears on the website and on Facebook in the pub's own voice, without anyone copying and pasting anything.
Content is agreed
Upcoming events, news or a seasonal post. A quick message is all it takes.
Post written and published
Formatted, on-brand and live on the WordPress site, with no client involvement needed.
Facebook follows automatically
The post reaches the pub's followers straight away, so the pub stays front of mind with its regulars.
How it's built
WordPress on a UK server
The site runs on Zenlabra's managed UK server, with full PHP and MySQL support and settings tuned for WordPress.
Cloudflare DNS with SSL
All traffic goes through Cloudflare for DNS, HTTPS everywhere, DDoS protection and caching, keeping the site fast and reachable.
Blog-to-Facebook publishing
Publishing a WordPress post automatically publishes it to the pub's Facebook page through a configured integration.
Zenith monitoring and monthly updates
Zenith checks the site every five minutes and alerts us if it stops answering. Core, theme and plugin updates happen in a monthly maintenance window.
Daily backups
Full site backups run every day, so if anything goes wrong, whether a bad update or something unexpected, we can restore quickly.
